As you will no doubt be aware, the owner of Oakfield Recreation Ground, the Heart of England Co-operative, has appealed against the decision to refuse planning permission on their plans to develop Oakfield Rec into 50 dwellings.

Since the application was unanimously rejected back in March, the Co-op has now advertised the land as being for sale, with a guide price of £2.5 million. It is important to note that this is an estimated value based on the land price if planning permission is granted. Curiously, in their sales brochure they state “Prospective purchasers are requested to indicate the level of support they will contribute to the appeal process along with their detailed financial offer”.
